Marion County Record editor Bill Meyer received one of the most coveted and cherished award for weekly newspaper editors, The Boyd Community Service Award, Thursday at the Kansas Press Association’s annual convention. The award is given each year to the newspaper man or woman who has best served others through community service.
The American Legion Auxiliary has selected Janice Wiens, Debra Hett, and Greta Helmer as delegates to the 37th annual Sunflower Girls State to be held June 10-17 on the University of Kansas campus at Theresa Kroupa is an alternate delegate. Lori Hett will represent Hillsboro sponsors.
Earlene Hague, clerk of Marion USD 408 will be installed Friday as president of the Kansas Association of Educational Secretaries. Hague has been the Marion school board clerk for the past nine years.
