Irv Schroeder County Motors soon will have a new home at the east edge of Marion. Now under construction by Longhofers, steel rafters of the building make an interesting study in geometric design. The 60 x 138 foot structure will house the Marion branch of the Hillsboro based agency.

A group of more than 50 elderly persons met in the basement of Marion City Building Wednesday afternoon for the purpose of organizing a builders’ group that can become a spearhead in providing a meeting place of older citizens of the community.

The Lee Irelands of Florence were the subjects of this week’s Personality Profile.

Despite a fierce June thunderstorm looming in the distance, people strolled to Central Park Friday night to see “Three on a Bench,” presented by the Marion Community Arts Council of PRIDE. Four players in the performance were Andy Ferrell, Janet Bryant, Sandra Bridges, and Randy Conyers.
