Cattle producers from Marion and Chase counties gathered Friday afternoon to hear Strait Ranch manager Randy V. Mills discuss the nutrition, calving and bull testing programs that have made Black Angus bulls raised on the ranch southeast of Florence known in Kansas.
Open doors at lunchtime, something Marion High School students have enjoyed for years, may slam shut. The board of education approved appointing a committee to study problems and then recommend to the board whether the lunch period remain open or closed.
Santa will be in Marion on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, during the annual Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Christmas opening.
Alan Hett and Rick Siebert, members of the Marion-Florence Chapter of Future Farmers of America received awards in the National FFA Safety Awards Program. Hett received a first place award and Siebert received a second place award.
Centre High School students will present “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown!” Thursday and Friday in the school gym. Mike Broce will portray Charlie Brown, Marlene Dvorak is Snoopy, and Steve Jirak is Linus.
