Enrollment is down again as the new year starts at attendance centers of the Marion-Florence schools. Enrollment, as of Monday, was as follows: Marion High School, 190; Florence Junior High, 174; Bown-Corby and Marion Elementary schools, 262; and Florence Elementary, 106.

Boothe Advertising Agency, Inc. of Wichita this past week chose Marion County Lake as the “perfect spot” for their annual agency-planning meeting.

Florence Junior High FHA members went to Florence Friday to help the teachers get ready for school. FHA officers present were Molly Ferrell, Annette Nienstedt, Kay Blackman, Patti Fruechting, Peggy Owens, Janelle Bowers, and Paula Vinduska. Other members who helped were Lori Harris, Gail Regier, Adah McGranor, Sandy Bridges, and Kathy Sandwell.

Released population figures show that Marion County has experienced an increase during the past year while the state lost over 2,000 people. Marion County gained from 15,475 in 1973 to 15, 818 this year. Marion grew from 2,331 last year to 2,418 this year.
