The youngsters were just two in a crowd of nearly 200 who stopped by for candy, toys, and chance to shake hands with the most popular man of the season. Art Holmes of Marion donated over 160 handcrafted toys for Santa’s visit.

Lloyd Davies, campaign chairman of the Marion Builders Senior Center fund drive, reports, “The best news is that we went ‘over the top’ in our ‘burn the mortgage’ campaign. The most far-reaching contribution came from a Marionite, Mabel Winne, who arrived home in Marion from Mexico City and immediately made a generous offer, one that will assure the success of the project to carpet the building.

A live nativity scene will be featured on the lawn of Eastmoor United Methodist Church from 6:45 to 7:30 tonight (Wednesday). The setting will be at the southeast corner of the church. Viewers are asked to enter on East Eastmoor Drive where there will be traffic directors to control the flow of traffic.
