The Marion Kiwanis Club will sponsor a series of travelogues this winter, which will take local people around the world, so to speak, for less than the price of gas to go to Wichita and back.

Diane Bish, talented and well-known concert organist, will present a recital at 8 p.m. Oct. 12 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. The music committee of the church is sponsoring the recital with the public invited to attend.

Marion High School football queen will be crowned Friday night at the homecoming game with Hillsboro. Candidates are Patti Forsyth, Mariann Elling, and Patty Kjellin.

An interesting study in geometric design is the structural steel framework of the new Hett Implement Co. building being constructed on North Cedar Street. The $150,000 building will cover 15,230 square feet of space and will house an expanded John Deere machinery agency. Completion date is set for the first of the year.
