New spring toys and a climber have been installed in Marion’s Central Park for the enjoyment of youngsters. The City of Marion and Neo-Century Club purchased the three riding toys jointly. The “monkey bar” climbing apparatus was constructed by high school boys in FFA.
Four sets of twins attended Daily Vacation Bible School last week at Valley United Methodist Church. They were Jan and Ann, seventh grade daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bryant of Marion; Karla and Koni, sixth grade girls of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Byram of Haysville; Loreen and Loraine, fifth grade daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wiens of Marion; and Brad and Gregg, four-year-old twin boys of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Tice of Marion.
Melinda Lou Hett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. Hett, Marion, and Kendall Jay Helmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Helmer, Marion, were united in marriage May 25 at 3 p.m.,
Women’s liberation has invaded the maintenance crews of the Kansas Highway Department at Marion. However, it’s not a militant movement. Teresa Case and Laurel Bernhardt have been doing any job called on. Their boss Jack Kerbs says the girls are willing and capable workers.
