Marion will become Tiddly Town USA this Saturday. It will be a day for the nimble-fingered, for the light-of-foot, for the bargain seeker, and for the light-hearted.

Jost Construction Co. workers are dismantling a part of Marion High School since its construction, the stage and auditorium. The auditorium and stage will be remodeled this summer for a new library. The old library and office space will be expanded to build new administrative and counseling offices.

The subject of this week’s Personality Profile by special feature writer Ruth Meyer is Charles Maggard. Maggard and his wife Helen opened the doors of Town and County Antiques ten days ago and in the first five days of business, pieces have gone from the store to Virginia, Kansas City, Iowa, and New York.

Mike and Marilyn Svoboda, children of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Svoboda, are pictured by a castle in front of their house in Lincolnville. The children enjoy the castle, built in 1936 by the former J.W. DeMand, a physician who followed the country doctor pattern of patient service.
