This week’s “Personality Profile” is devoted to David Blackim who came to Marion in March 1911 from Glasgow, Scotland, at the age of three. He spent his youth here and after 22 years away in the pharmacy-related profession, he has returned to Marion where he occasionally is able to slip back into the career role.

Christine Laue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Sanders was eight years old Feb. 8. Due to the 14-inch snow on that day, a birthday party was held Feb. 13. Guests were her sister Carol, Denice Winter, Melissa Johnston, Jennifer McLain, Tina Holub, and Lucy and Lilly Guerra.

Donna Hayen surprised husband Max and son Brent last week when she had Sandy Kramer bake specially decorated cakes for their birthdays. Brent is a Royals fan and Max enjoys flying his 1946 vintage “Maytag Messerschmidt.” No fan of the plane, Donna had it stuck in the frosting.

The 1980 edition of “Who’s Who in Music” will carry the names of six vocalists from Marion High School. They are Julie Hett, Lori Hett, Linda Schaffer, Brian Bowers, John Dyck, and Theresa Kroupa.
