Women representing federated clubs of Marion gathered at Farmers and Drovers National Bank recently to make a deposit in an account to finance drilling a well and constructing an underground watering system in East Park.

This week’s Personality Profile is the story of Matthew H. Classen, who took over presidency of Marion National Bank in 1964 at 30 years of age, the youngest bank president in the state.

Marion’s Gerry Harris has established a good name for himself as one of the most proficient basketball officials in Kansas. This week he will work the 5A tourney at Emporia and on March 29 will be working the national women’s junior college all-star game in Hutchinson.

Doug Marler was the winner of a $250 gift certificate from Wylies of Hutchinson Monday morning when he solved the “Ellery Queen Mystery” on radio station KSKU-FM.
