The board of directors of Marion County Hospital District No. 1 met Thursday evening when Bob Jones, Topeka architect, discussed building plans for the new physician’s clinic to be located adjacent to the hospital.

Two of Marion’s public servants, Ray Vinduska and A.F. “Tommy” Thompson, will close out a combined total of 67 years of employment with the Postal Service when they retire this month. Also retiring is Ed Stenzel, who on Friday will complete 33 years with the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service.

Two young women from Marion died in separate highway accidents over the weekend. Joyce May, 29, wife of Stanley May, died Friday night in an accident on US-77 south of the Marion-Butler County Line. A train-truck collision northeast of Wichita early Sunday morning took the life of Sue E. Moore, 24, wife of Patrick Moore.
