Businessman Martin Tice became Mayor Tice at 3:20 p.m. Monday after Tuesday’s city election, when he was selected to succeed Peggy Blackman, who stepped down from the position after nine years in office.
The Depot Youth Center will have its grand opening at 7 p.m. April 25. Teenagers in the Marion-Florence area are being invited to purchase memberships. Annual dues will be $12.
Stephen D. Cranston has announced a new policy for those who desire appointments for surgical consultation at his office in Marion. A board-certified surgeon, he may be reached for appointments by calling the St. Luke Hospital operator.
Robert Hoch, a native of Marion, has been promoted prepress and systems manager of the Wichita Eagle-Beacon.
Announcement is made this week of the engagement and approaching marriage of Amy JoAnn Tollefson of Lecompton to Douglas Willard Kjellin of Marion. Their wedding date is scheduled for May 31 at the Free Methodist Church in McPherson.
