Physician Jeff Martin this week closed his medical practice in Marion, Florence, and Lincolnville and announced Monday that he would devote full time to emergency room practice at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.

Larry Reiswig and Greg Bowers assumed control Thursday of Farmers and Drovers National Bank.

Reiswig and Bowers have announced that they and a group of investors have purchased bank shares owned by Lorraine Hadsell, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Colburn, David Colburn, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brooks.

Helen Jackson, a native of Marion and daughter of Marion High School teacher Pat Jackson, will receive a master’s degree in divinity Saturday at San Francisco Theological Seminary in California. She plans to join the ordained clergy of the Presbyterian church.

Cheerleaders for the 1986-’87 school year have been chosen at Marion High School. They are Jill Dannenfelser, Michelle Foth, Michele Griffith, Amy Hett, Jennifer McLain, Jo Shepek, Stephanie Summerville, and Mary Margaret Mills.

Ron Weber has announced his resignation as teacher and coach at Centre High School. Weber has accepted a position as secondary math teacher and assistant basketball coach at Lawrence High School.
