A McPherson legal firm has opened a branch office in Marion and has moved into the former Westerhaus Law Office building. The firm of Gary L. Flory, John B. Klenda, and Tim R. Karstetter. Numerous local businessmen and clients attended the firm’s open house Friday.

Volunteers are pictured as they install a sign Friday evening at Hilltop Manor in Marion. The event marked 15 years since the retirement apartment complex was built. Officials who helped put up the sign were Ira Newcomer, Dick Thompson, L. Dena and Cy Goertz, and Darold Longhofer.

Women of the Presbyterian church had their annual women’s day out Tuesday when a group of 20 traveled to Lindsborg.

Members of the Marion High School flag team won a championship trophy and numerous individual ribbons recently during a summer camp in Tulsa. Members of the team are Dena Connell, Vicki Hartley, Jory Kramer, Jennifer McLain, Sheri Plenert, Robin Summervill, Charlotte Thies, and Diane Vantuyl. Dale Heidebrecht received several awards in training for marching bandleaders.

City superintendent Junior Bredemeier reported at a city commission meeting Monday that Lincoln St. would be extended south for access to Burr Oak Addition.
