Maurice and Alberta Pritz of Lost Springs will perform during Saturday’s sidewalk sale, beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday in Marion. The sale is being sponsored by Marion Chamber of Commerce. A square dance is planned from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Elgin House parking lot.

The second in the series by Pam Vinduska about the Record’s community correspondents features Ella Winkley, who cannot recall how many years she has written news of the Aulne community.

Randy and Judy Mills are subjects of Ruth Meyer’s Personality Profiles in this week’s issue. The Mills family came back to Kansas in October 1969 and resides on the Strait ranch south of Florence.

Pictured is Kerry Friesen, who is not much larger than the 11¼-pound cantaloupe grown by her grandmother, Mrs. Carl Friesen. Kerry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Friesen of Hutchinson, is the youngest person to enter the Record’s Produce Derby this season.

Julie Hett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ern Hett of rural Marion, has returned from a six-day stay at Estes Park, Colorado, where she attended Christian Artists Music Seminar. She entered two songs in a song-writing competition. Each finished in the Top 10 out of 700 entered.

Don Peachey and his popular polka band will be in Pilsen for a one-night stand Aug. 25 at Starlite Ballroom.
