A second snowstorm of major consequence hit Marion County over the weekend. It came hard on the heels of a New Year’s storm that had left eight inches or more of the wet stuff clogging roads and blocking streets and sidewalks.
Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Ehrlich were good Samaritans to a group of eight men from El Dorado working on an oil well being drilled on the Ehrlich farm. They were stalled during the snowstorm and spent all day Saturday, that night, and Sunday morning with the Ehrlichs.
This week’s “Personality Profile” features Marion High School basketball coach Marion Ogden, who with his wife Linda and their two daughters, April and Alison, moved to Marion five years ago.
Bob Brookens, Marion attorney, has moved his law office to a building he has purchased at 407 E. Main St. The building formerly housed The Hitching Post, a western-wear store. Brookens formerly was located in the Westerhaus law building.
Michael M. Classen, Barbara J. Costello, Kimberly K. Duke, and Julie A. Horsch, all of Marion, earned scholastic honors during the fall semester at Kansas State University. The students ranked in the top 10% of the classes within their college.
