Members of Marion Chamber of Commerce and their families will have a picnic Friday evening in Central Park. Speaker for the evening will be Donna Newsom Tabatabai, who will tell of her experiences since making her home in Iraq.

A continuance was granted Monday in Marion County District Court to Timothy Newfield, charged with first-degree murder of Peabody State Bank teller Grant Avery.

An Army helicopter piloted by Chief Warrant Officer Lester Harlan, a 1968 graduate of Marion High School, will land at the airport Saturday morning and be available for public inspection.
