A 52-year-old social worker flagged down a motorist on US-56 Sunday morning and told of a four-day ordeal she and her blind companion had spent shivering and starving in their mud-bound car 3½ miles southeast of Lost Springs.
This week’s personality profile is about John Christensen, son of Lynn and Wilma Christensen. John has joined his brother, Jim, in operating Lynn’s Truck and Tractor International Harvester dealership. The dealership is building a new facility and parking area on W. Main St.
A party at the Robert Jirak home after the Marion-Hillsboro basketball game Saturday evening honored junior and senior boys on the Marion team and their coaches.
Hosts for the party were Mr. and Mrs. Jirak, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hett, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith.
Lynley Gutsch reigned Friday as 1980 homecoming queen at Centre High School. Others in the competition were Marlene Dvorak, Dawn Gutsch, and Debbie Mille.
