Quick-draw world champion Larry Lalouette will entertain farmers and stockmen at the annual Marion Chamber of Commerce steak feed Monday at Marion City Building. Marion High School Swing Singers and Lalouette will present a program after the meal.
Ron Cork and Phyllis Melton of Marion Chamber of Commerce are pictured as they present “first dollar” plaques to Norman Rowe, new owner of the Dine Inn Café, and Kathy and Bob Sprowls, new owners of Kingfisher’s Inn.
Trent Crissup of Cedar Point will be one of the featured performers when the Opry show “Ozark Jamboree” is presented Saturday at Burlington. Trent, son of Mrs. Carl Evans of Cedar Point, sings, fiddles, plays bass guitar, and has the lead in many of the pieces in the program.
Seven Marion High School students were selected for the district choir in auditions Nov. 1 at Wichita’s North High School. Those selected were Greg Boyle, Cindy Heerey, Gena Helmer, Paul Loney, Jan Nuss, Lisa Richmond, and Brad Seifert.
Kenneth Vinduska, general manager of Roundup Enterprises, Hillsboro, since 1978, has been named vice president of operations.
