The beauty of autumn is everywhere. Leaves of red, yellow and deep orange are in beautiful color along highways and riverbanks. Soon the beauty will be gone and the bare branches will reach toward the sky. Milo and corn are still to be harvested, however fields are too wet. Some have hurriedly started to sow wheat where it can be done. It is hoped a few days will be left to harvest the crops and sow the grain.

Members of Marion High School football team have made their selection of the three candidates for the title “Homecoming Queen.” They are Carol Conyers, Naomi Stenzel, and Lou Wheeler

Jill Musgrave was honored Oct. 9 when her mother, Mrs. Robert Musgrave invited Judy Yaussi, Cherri Ottensmeier, Sandra Hoover, Laura Brose, Brenda Jo Richmond, Karen Young, Paula Mayginnes, and Teresa Hett to a party to celebrate her fifth birthday.
