Construction of the modern bowling alley in Marion started today with footings being dug at the location on the east edge of town. The building is being financed by a group of Marion residents, and the equipment will be installed by men from Eureka. The Eureka men will also operate and manage the business.

Those from Marion who attended Tabor College’s piano teacher’s workshop on Saturday were Mrs. John E. Wheeler, Viola Thompson, Mrs. Kenneth Rigler, Mrs. Edwin Westerhaus, and Mrs. Emma McIntosh

Sixty-three St. Luke Hospital ‘baby alumni” and 44 mothers were present Oct. 22 at the annual “alumni” party held at the Marion City Building. The group was entertained by Mrs. Williams’ 43 kindergarten pupils, many who also were members of the alumni group.

Suzanne Bailey and Linda Amick invited a number of friends to the Edmund Amick home Saturday evening for a Halloween party. Those invited were Henrietta Klein, Carmen Hayen, Judy Pankratz, Mary Schimpf, Carolyn Benoit, Janice Childs, Pat Warneke, Linda Bauman, LaVonda Hett, Kay Amick, and Barbara Musgrave.

Miss Lenore Wheeler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.W. Wheeler, will appear in the forthcoming Wichita University production of the comic opera, “The Merry Wives of Windsor.” Miss Wheeler will portray one of the three soprano leads in the opera.
