Five Marion High School boys and their trip sponsor, Floyd Yaussi, will leave the latter part of the week to take part in the outstanding “Fellowship of Christian Athletes” camp at Estes Park. The boys include Tim Williams, Don Druse, Steve Greenemeyer, Jerry Domke, and Tom Good.
The Babe Ruth all-stars, representing the Cottonwood Valley League, left for Wahpeton, N.D., Wednesday morning where they will play in the regional tournament.
One of the many features planned for this year’s Marion County Fair will be the appearance Wednesday evening of Elmer Childress and family. The well-known family appears regularly on KARD-TV, Wichita, on their daily gospel hymn program at 12:30 p.m.
Irma Doster, well-known former Marion resident has compiled and published a very interesting booklet entitled
Freedom Has a Happy Ring.” The book contains 49 essays that took prizes in the four annual Constitution contests, and include several written by Mrs. Inez Ray. It should be a valuable addition to any library’s source material and editorial on the “four freedoms.”
Mr. and Mrs. John F. Richmond announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Loretta Marie, to Dale Snelling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Snelling of Florence.
