Another important face-lifting job to the appearance of Marion’s Main Street is in progress this week. The Reinke building, housing the Peter Pan Ice Cream Store, is getting a brand new front, with an entire interior redecoration as well. Reuben Zerger, Marion contractor, is in charge of the remodeling work.

Wm. K. Holmes, popular Marion manager of the A.L. Duckwall’s store, was installed Friday noon as the new president of the Marion Chamber of Commerce. He succeeds S.W. Gound.

H.L. Wright, agent-telegrapher for the Santa Fe Railway at Marion, has announced his retirement. Wright took over the Marion station in 1938.

The next in a series of poultry district meetings will be Feb. 3 with a big poultry barbecue lunch at noon. General chairman is J.L. Fruechting.

Greg Carlson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Carlson, was honored at a dinner Sunday at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Walker of Wakefield. Greg will be two years old Dec. 19.
