Blowing, drifting snow and highways icy slick in spots caused disagreeable traffic snarls in Marion County Sunday. In two adjoining spots, K-15 northwest of Hillsboro and U.S. 56 in the same area, some 200 to 300 vehicles were stalled for a time.

Keith Conyers of Marion has pledged Kappa Sigma social fraternity at Kansas State University.

The Brownie Scouts will celebrate the 12th Night January 6 by burning their old Christmas tree at the Hill Grade School.

Myers Jr., Minneapolis, Minn.; Scott Joseph, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Anderson, Valley Center; and Patricia Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Garrison, St. Joseph, Mo.

Don’t forget the New Year’s Day wolf hunt to be held Friday. Participants will meet at the Youngtown schoolhouse at 10 a.m.
