The proposed Atlas ICBM launching site near Goessel in Marion County has been changed to an alternate site near Mitchell in Rice County. Under the present plans, there will be no missile site located in the county.

A soft, damp, 8-inch snow fell over Marion County Saturday and Sunday, bringing fine moisture to fields and pastures. Then the temperature dropped, a north wind arose, and much snow was blown into drifts that closed roads everywhere. Most rural schools and many city schools were closed because of the snows and blocked roads.

Art Loewen, at present living in Aulne, today announced that he had purchased the Cottage Hotel from Mrs. Pauline Aldinger. Mrs. Aldinger has operated the establishment since 1927.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Franta of Lincolnville announce the engagement of their daughter, Violet, to James Richmond, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Richmond of Marion.
