The official Queen’s Court of Marion High School 1960s basketball season includes Queen Julia Wooldridge and her four attendants, Jean Williams, Tressie Miles, Donna Jost, and Karen Jost.

Birthday parties reported in this week’s issue include those honoring Loretta Smith, Deanna Kimble, Diana Goertz, Pat Warneke, and Ruth Morse.

Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Winter announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Margie Ann, to Kenneth Dale Sandwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Sandwell of Marion. The wedding will be an event of the near future.

One country correspondent writes the following in this issue concerning the weather: “Birds are dying for lack of feed, coyotes are so numerous, and rabbits are destroying young trees. Housewives are beating a path to the laundry in town to dry the family washing and those who have baby chicks coming are thinking of knitting sweaters and socks for the tiny birds.”
