Barbara Musgrave, a sixth grade student at Hill Grade School, won the annual Marion County spelling contest for elementary school students. She also was last year’s winner. Second place went to Mary Lou Stika of Lincolnville, third to Jane Ann Bina of Pilsen, and fourth to Gloria Lewerenz of Lincolnville.

Marion High School juniors Ron Oelschlager and John Christensen have been selected as delegates to Sunflower Boys’ State in Wichita. Karen Jost and Julia Wooldridge will attend Girls’ State at Lawrence.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hauser and family moved over the weekend into the Ed Hauser home, which they have remodeled. Mr. Hauser will move into his new home as soon as it is completed. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hett have purchased the Harold Hauser residence and will move in soon.

Jo and Jim’s children shop held an Easter fashion show last Saturday afternoon as a special feature to the opening in a new location at 4th and Main streets. Models were Teresa Youk, Mary Ward, Randy Robertson, Suzanne Cook, Freddy Nelson, Johnny Higgins, Timmy and Julie Zerger, Bradley Heerey, Leonard and Dennis Schafers, Debora and Christina Vogt, Cheryl Lawrence, and Brenda and Jimmy Richmond.
