Mrs. Ed Sandwell delivered a very interesting account at the Marion Kiwanis Club meeting on Monday of the trip behind the Iron Curtain she, her sister, and her father, Pete Shramek, took this past summer.
Mrs. Pauline Edmunds’ sixth grade class took a field trip Oct. 11 to the city water plant. Ruben Winter showed the group around the plant and explained the various stages of purifying the water so the people of Marion can use it.
Deanna Klenda was crowned as 1961 Warrior Football Homecoming Queen Friday evening during halftime ceremonies of the Marion-St. Xavier game. Jean Williams and Pam Hamlin were the other two finalists.
Red Skelton, Ben Casey, and Rawhide were just a few of the answers to roll call of “My Favorite TV Program” at the Oct. 17 meeting of the Pilsen Lucky 4-H Club.
Winners at the Ford-sponsored Punt, Pass and Kick Contest were: Andy Ferrell and Patrick Heinz, age 6; Jimmy Magathan, James Bell, Richard Bowers, age 7; Danny Frickey, Mike Bredemeier, Doug Keazer, age 9; Roger Jackson, Terry Plenert, Dennis Webb, age 10; and Gary Melcher, Doug Westerhaus, and Gary Wiens, age 10.
