Selected by the Marion United Traffic Safety Commission as the October adult safe driver was the Rev. Elton Kirstein. Pam Domke is the teen-age safe driver. Marion Kiwanis Club will furnish the prize of gasoline for the winners.

Groundbreaking services will be held Nov. 11 by the congregation and friends of the Marion Mennonite Brethren Church for their new church building soon to be under construction on South Coble.

A new Brownie Troop has started in Marion. The troop consists of the following second grade girls: Nancy Bennett, Teresa Case, Deborah Douglas, Debra Heidel, Roxannne Helmer, Lisa Holmes, Dotty Lentz, Susie Lundgren, Cathy Newlin, Karen Pankratz, Deanna Roberts, Cynthia Swain, Teresa Turk, Deborah Vogel, Christie Vogt, Jeannie Widler, Cindy Wedel, Cynthia Wedel, Becky Wood and Cheryl Cox.

Joyce Wall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Wall of Florence, was named homecoming queen at Florence last week. Her attendants were Barbara Walker and Carol Fetrow, both of Cedar Point.

Groundbreaking services will be held Nov. 13 for the new office building for the Marion County Welfare Department to be located on the southwest corner of courthouse grounds.

Marion County students enrolled for the fall semester at Southwestern College include Dennis Schroeder and Naomi Stenzel of Marion.
