The Marion High School junior class will present the play “Night of January 16th” Nov. 16 at the city building. This play is a murder trial in three acts. Karen Andre, portrayed by Mary Konarik, is on trial for murder. The play is unique in that the audience plays a major role — it supplies the jury.

Plans for the countywide administering of Sabin oral polio vaccine to an estimated 6,000 Marion County residents have been completed and a series of eight clinics set up to give the simple dosages on cubes of sugar.

Nancy Bennett celebrated her 8th birthday Nov. 6 when she entertained five little guests. Those present were Lisa Holmes, Teresa Case, Susie Lundgren, Cathy Newlin, and Cheryl Cox.

Births announced this week in the “Look Who’s Here” column include Mary Kathryn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Klenda of Lincolnville, Gerald Leonard, son of Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Hoffman of Seneca, and Thomas Michael, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Costello of Tampa.

Harvey Hawkinson of Lost Springs missed $150 in this week’s Cash Day drawing. Harold McKibbin, Marion, missed $5; Mrs. Hattie Morse, Marion, received $20; Harold Vinduska, Marion, received $25; and Mrs. Adolph Foth, Marion, received $40.

Mrs. Kenneth Hartman was hostess Monday morning to a surprise “come as you are” coffee. Those attending were Mrs. Robert Musgrave, Mrs. Rosse Case, Mrs. Bill Holmes, and Mrs. Forrest Smith.
