Valedictorian of the Marion High School class of 1963 is Rose Marie Loveless, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Loveless. Jean Morse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Morse is salutatorian. The Balfour Award goes to Lowell Ensey, son of Dr. and Mrs. T.C. Ensey.

All boys in the area, ages 13-15 inclusive, who are interested in playing Babe Ruth baseball this summer, should report to the Athletic Association ball field for tryouts at 4 p.m. May 30 or 4 p.m. June 1.

Mr. and Mrs. Lysle C. Russell announce the engagement of their daughter, Jeanette Colleen, to John W. Rupp, son of Mrs. Walter Rupp and the late Mr. Rupp. The wedding will take place in early August at First Christian Church, Marion.

Stanley Anderson, young Marion farmer, suffered a painful injury Wednesday evening when his hand was caught in the gears of a hay baler. He lost the index finger at the first joint and for a time it was feared he would lose his thumb and middle finger. These, however, were saved by surgery.

Tampa High School has named Jay Francis Bezdek as its valedictorian of the 1963 graduating class. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bezdek. Salutatorian is Doris Elaine Stry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Stry.

The Over 50 Club will meet in the Marion City Park for a picnic dinner at noon Wednesday, June 5.
