New houses are being completed these days in Marion. Included are the new homes of Mr. and Mrs. George Helmer on East Main, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Weibert on South Freeborn, Superintendent and Mrs. Robert Musgrave on North Lincoln, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Frickey, also on North Lincoln. A remodeling and face lifting is being done to the Maggard home on East Main, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Vogt have moved a house in from Hillsboro to North Lincoln and have extensively remodeled it, and a foundation has been poured for a new home on North Roosevelt for Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heerey.
Jeanne Keazer was guest of honor Friday evening at a party in honor of her birthday. Invited guests were Shelly Hett, Rita Jost, Linda Helmer, Rita Hein, Edsel Schroeder, Dean Ensey, and Jim and Doug Keazer. The group enjoyed playing games. A wiener roast was followed by birthday cake and ice cream.
This area seems to be returning as a fruit-growing section. At least judging from a peach “sample” brought to the Record office this week by Glen Kline. The satiny beauty weighed almost three-quarters of a pound. It measured 10½ inches around one way and 10¼ the other.
