The annual Marion PTA home talent productions are fast becoming a community tradition for fun and good talent. A brand new production, “Off Broadway,” is in the final rehearsal stages and will be presented March 28 and 29. The show is written and supervised by Jean Holmes. A front page photo identifies some of the thespians as Pauline Ferrell, Keith Conyers, Conrad Steinel, Gerry Harris, Dave Hanson, Jim Parrack, Boyce Baumgardner, and Bernie Powell.

Super values this weekend at the Peter Pan store, 213 E. Main, are half gallons of all flavors ice cream, 59 cents; ice cream sandwiches, dozen, 99 cents; and banana split, 43 cents

Tryouts for the Junior Class play, “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,” were March 10. Chosen for the cast were Norman Mueller, Pat Costello, Helen Jackson, Linda Loney, Steve Heinz, Jackie Thomas, Cathy Palmer. Jim Magee, Patty Plenert, Jan Varenhorst, Mike Wood, and Neil Osgood.

Action by some little Brownie and Girl Scouts got results this week when they wrote letters to the school board and city commission in regard to street lights on the athletic field road. The girls complained that it is dark when walking to the ball park at night. So, the city has agreed to install new street lights along Lawrence Street.
