Marion National Bank will soon be undergoing a major improvement project, of “face-lifting” of the exterior of their building at the corner of Third and Main streets—still another in a continuing series of important downtown business improvement in Marion.
Cheri Bell and Mary Schimpf, two Marion High School seniors are this year’s PTA Scholarship winners. Cheri plans to attend Wichita State University this fall and Mary will attend Kansas State University.
The growing community of property owners at the Marion County Park and Lake, both part and full-time residents, got together last Saturday evening in the first of planned monthly social and whatever-business-there-is meetings. About 45 persons were there for the first dinner and meeting.
Patsy Nelson, bride-elect of Dean Bina, was guest of honor March 26 at a miscellaneous shower given by Mary Swann and her mother, Mrs. Alfred Swann, at the Swann home.
Marion’s home talent fully lived up to its high reputation, and hit the jackpot in their most recent presentation, “Off Broadway,” performed to two capacity crowds at Marion City Auditorium this Monday and Tuesday nights.
Elizabeth Thole, MHS senior, won first place in the senior botany division of the 11th Regional Science Fair held March 26-28 at Salina.
