Pictured happy winners in the big weekly drawing for boys and girls last Thursday include Glenn Bartel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bartel, who won the bicycle (he won one the year before also — how lucky can you get?) Second prize was won by Janice Bowers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bowers, third prize by Susie Lundgren, daughter of Mrs. Bill Razor, and fourth prize by Mark Tajchman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tajchman.
The new Spain Guest Home, being constructed at the east edge of Marion is moving along at a rapid rate. The huge concrete floor was poured last week, taking advantage of the warm weather on Thursday and Friday. The home will have 50 beds and will be fully approved as a skilled nursing home.
Mrs. Ruth Matthews attended the district Peter Pan Co. meeting and Christmas party in Junction City Dec. 15. It was announced that the Marion Peter Pan Store had won a sales promotion contest for this district.

Donna Russell, Emporia, and Leo Bezdek, Tampa, both juniors at Emporia Teachers College were crowned “1966 Candy Cane Couple” December 2 by the Associated Women students at the college.
