Way was being made Monday for the new natural gas line being installed around the Marion County Park and Lake by Greeley Gas Company to provide service to homes at the lake.

Myron Frans, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Frans, Marion, passed the examination last Thursday for his private pilot license. He got his license on his 17th birthday, earliest possible time such a license can be issued.

Candy Stripers at St. Luke Hospital and Spain Guest Home received awards Thursday evening in a ceremony at the hospital. Those receiving ribbons for the top, fourth award, were Janice Jantz, Debbie Case, Jan VanBuren, Linda Oldham, and Nancy Olsen.

John Hoover, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hoover, has finished his training for the Peace Corps at the University of Texas. He left New York Tuesday for Turkey where he and 62 other Peace Corps volunteers will be stationed for two years. John will be teaching English in the schools there.

The program, “Music, Music, Music” was a smash hit Tuesday night. Over 200 Marion women were “keyed up” and delighted to be “tuned in” at the annual Community Guild banquet. The program was presented by Bula Staub with music from classic to pop, concert to ragtime. Mrs. Staub not only has professional ability at the piano, but a beautiful singing voice, natural ease before an audience, and special skills at public speaking.
