What gift would be more welcome at Christmas than a hindquarter of Kansas beef? That’s the prize to be given away Saturday to some lucky adult. Marion Chamber of Commerce will award the hindquarter at 4 p.m.

Doug Cusick, son of Lloyd Cusick of rural Marion, received a $20 gift certificate in a teenage drawing Saturday afternoon. Betsy Bowers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Bowers of rural Marion, also won a $20 gift certificate.

Mr. and Mrs. E.K. Schroeder entertained their dental office staff with a Christmas dinner Dec. 12 at Kingfisher’s Inn.

Sharon Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Anderson of Marion, was one of 91 University of Kansas students to be appointed Watkins-Berger or Summerfield Scholars for 1975-’76.

A miscellaneous bridal shower honoring Kathy Kelsey, bride-elect of Mark Rathert, was Dec. 6 in the fellowship rooms of Marion Christian Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Costello were hosts for a dinner party at their home for employees of Tampa State Bank, bank directors, and their husbands and wives.
