Sailplanes were thick in the sky Thursday afternoon over Marion. At one time, nine such powerless planes were circling over town. A large front moved in from the southwest, and the planes landed in the area, most of them at the airport.
Bob and Linda Risenhoover, residents of Marion County Lake, have purchased MarBowl Lanes, Marion’s bowling alley.
Physician assistant Rebecca Ediger, a native of Peabody, is featured in this week’s personality profile. Physician T.C. Ensey has offered her a position of assistant. She now is visiting patients in Ensey’s office and at St. Luke Hospital.
Births announced in this issue include Tina Marie, daughter of Staff Sergeant and Mrs. Robert Klose of Sumter, South Carolina; Aaron Dean, son of Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Helmer, Marion; Michael John, son of John and Ruth Snodgrass, Boulder, Colorado; Justin Dean, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Groening, Marion; Shannon Dawn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Mills, Newton; and Brenda Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Laney, Cottonwood Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Dody, rural Lincolnville, will observe their golden wedding anniversary July 25 at Valley United Methodist Church. They have eight children, 17 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
