Margaret Pickering and Peggy Blackman have been named outstanding young women of America for 1976.

Both women are willing and active workers in Marion community organizations. Their biographies will be published in the next edition of “Outstanding Young Women of America.”

“D.E. Special” is a brand of tractor that few people recognize. The “Special” is a one-of-a-kind tractor that is the handiwork of Dan Eitel of rural Tampa.

A clever skit of songs, music, and history was given Sunday at Pilsen to celebrate the nation’s bicentennial. Kathy Silhan narrated the program.

John Holub of Antelope held the lucky ticket Thursday evening as grand prize at the National Baseball Congress tournament in Wichita. His prize was a $700 above-ground swimming pool.
