The nation mourns a great statesman, John Foster Dulles. It is now that we will know how much he has done for our country.

All Marion County residents are again advised that now is the time to get their polio immunizations. This is the warning from Dr. P.D. Ens, county health officer. All immunizations are given by the doctor of your choice says Dr. Ens.

Four Marion County postmasters attended the annual state convention of postmasters last Friday and Saturday at Salina. They were Bob Bevan of Lost Springs, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lewerenz of Lincolnville, Walter Davis of Florence, and Paul Shahan of Marion.

Plans are all set for Hillsboro’s big four-day Diamond Jubilee celebration June 7-10, marking the city’s 75th anniversary.

Everett Burkhead will leave Sunday from Newton for Kansas City to attend a summer session of seven weeks at the School for the Blind in Kansas City.

Roy Pientka, Marion, has accepted a position in the design work with Texas Instruments, Inc., Dallas, Texas. He will receive a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Kansas State University this spring.

Margie Ann Bernhardt will return to Marion Thursday from Ottawa University. Margie will spend the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bernhardt, until her wedding in August.
