Wheat harvest is a little earlier this year than last, according to predictions, and it is expected that some wheat may be cut by the end of this week or early next week, in southern Marion County.

The city of Marion showed an increase of 75 in population during the past year, considerably the largest gain of any city in the county.

At their annual meeting Friday, the Antelope school district patrons voted overwhelmingly to disorganize and divide up. Most of the district indicated a desire to join with Lincolnville District 7. The remainder will be added to Pilsen, District No. 115.

Thirteen Marion County 4-H delegates were in Manhattan last week for the annual 4-H Roundup. Girls attending were Charlene Stinchcomb, Carol Thiessen, Margene Savage, Donna Janzen, Rita Urbanek, Diana Goertz, and Sharon Schimdt. Boys going were Jerold Spohn, Robert Christiansen, Steven Cox, James Truax, Courtney Rempel, and John Peters.

Miss Maude Thompson is the proud owner of a new pink and gray Dodge car purchased from Powell Motor Co. This is Miss Thompson’s first car and her friends are thrilled for her.
