The former State Bank of Commerce building at 318 East Main, owned by Edward M. Good, was sold this week to D.W. Wheeler. Plans eventually are to move the law offices of Wheeler and Edwin G. Westerhaus into the first floor of the building. This, however, will not be done for some months, it is stated.

The Marion County Rifle and Pistol Club was organized and formed Tuesday evening at a meeting in the Marion City Building. Henry Loveless was elected president of the organization with Bill Holmes as vice president; John Brose, secretary; Jerry Higgins, treasurer; W.J. “Bus” Hassinger, executive officer, and Jack Swain, instructor.

New Sub Deb members initiated the past week were: Lavina Hoffman, Bonnie Lucas, Shirley Lucas, Marilyn Loveless, Ann Bass, Carol Conyers, Jean Dody, Cinda Hauser, Joan Heerey, Kathy May, Jan Rathert, Joyce Remmers, Bonnie Richmond, Sue Summervill, Kay Thompson, Lou Wheeler, Margie Winters, and Carolyn Wilson.

Among the queen candidates for Marion County Fair this year are Mary Lou Conyers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Conyers, Marion, and Donna Kelsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Kelsey, Marion.
