A new instruction class in square dancing, open to everyone interested in Marion County, will begin Sept. 20 and continue each Saturday evening this fall. Dances will be held in the American Legion hall, under the sponsorship of the City Squares Club. Bud Pierce will be the caller/instructor.
Births announced in this issue include Kurt Douglas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sly of Stuart, Iowa, born August 28; Ronald Ross, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cheever, born September 7; Kevin Dale, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hamm, September 7; and MaLinda Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Navrat, September 9.
Neo Century, junior federated club, has chosen as a project a delivery service for library books to shut-ins and people without transportation. Deliveries and pick-ups will be made on Wednesdays. Those who wish to receive this service are asked to call Mrs. Glenn Conyers, phone 320J.
Marion Kiwanis Club voted Monday to help sponsor a local Bicycle Safety Club, with the cooperation of the Marion police force. Further details will be published as they develop.
Ralph Dohner found a U.S. Signal Corps radio-sonde transmitter in the pasture south of his farm home Wednesday.
