The deed to the Baptist church on Main Street was completed this week by its trustees and the building was turned over to Marion County for use as Marion County Historical Museum.

Nine Marion High School girls, in old-fashioned costumes, were the center of attraction on an advertising trip over the county Saturday. They extended a friendly welcome to everyone they saw to come to Marion Friday for Old Settlers’ Day. The girls were Sue Haizlip, Mary Keller, Beatrice Cogdill, Geraldine Davis, Ruth Muck, Carol Summer, Delores Lucas, Paula Cook and Bonnie Richmond.

Several former members of “M” Company, 35th Division, WWI, attended a reunion at St. Joseph, Mo., over the weekend. Charley Niederhauser and Ollie Wight attended from Marion, Henry Bruner of Ramona, and George Brennen of Burns.

Winners of 18 state fair ribbons, including four first place ribbons, were the pens of Poland China pigs shown by Joe W. Dvorak and his son, Joe Jr.

Wallace Siebert and Menno Funk, who have been in Canada the past five weeks helping with the harvest and other business, returned home last Friday. They report the crops were poor this year.

Mrs. Alex Case Jr. invited guests Saturday afternoon to help Debi celebrate her fifth birthday. The guests played in the park, then went to the Case home for refreshments. Those present were Sandra Anderson, Lloyd Behrendt, Shelley Batt, Brad Case, Jimmie Criswell, Brenda Foth, Dannie Frickey, Mike Good, Eric Meyer, Susie Wood, Denise Wiens, Kendall Helmer, Bernice Mills, and Debbie Voth.
