After lengthy negotiations, a contract was signed Monday between county commissioners and Ben Schlager, Wichita, who will build and finance a floating, insulated, and heated fishing dock at Marion County Lake. There will be a 5-foot walkway around the outside for those who prefer fishing there instead of inside.

Judy Broadstreet was named Queen at Friday night’s annual homecoming. Her two attendants were Connie Warneke and Tina Holmes.

Dr. James A. Wheeler will open offices for medicine and pediatrics this Friday in the building above the Wheeler and Westerhaus law offices.

Thomas Spachek, president of the Pilsen State Bank at Lincolnville, died Sunday morning, Feb. 9, at St. Luke Hospital.

The senior class of Tampa High School is planning a trip to Mexico City during the latter part of May. They have invited the public to share the trip with them at reduced rates.

Beatrice Swanson of Marion was the only winner in this week’s Cash Days drawing. Her prize was $25. Ronald Boyer, Marion, missed $200; Mrs. Jim Bass, Marion, missed $5; Mrs. L.A. Collins, Marion, missed $5; and Nora Lee Jennings, Marion, missed $25.
