Marion Warriors wowed the fans with a spectacular ending to an overtime ball game Friday evening when Brian Alexander sunk the victory field goal on the Marion court with the final gun sounding while the ball was in the air. Marion won the district tournament with the 49-48 victory over Lindsborg.

Marion Girl Scouts sold a total of 1,058 boxes of Girl Scout cookies in their annual sales drive. Top salesmen in each of the troops were Sandra Anderson, Pam Slusser, Susan Marler, and Susie Lundgren.

Two Marion citizens, Earl Kreuter and Ira Newcomer, this year complete twelve years of service to the community as members of the city commission.

Janice Hoffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Hoffman of Marion, received her cap in the capping exercises at Newman Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Emporia, Feb. 28.

Bob Kelly was winner of the recent three weekend Marion City Bowling Tournament. He walked away with the singles honors for both handicap and scratch, the all events handicap, and the high-30 handicap awards.
