Another new business opened in Marion this week when Mrs. Lucille Smith started operating the Pizza Corner. Located in the former Marion Creamery building, the business will feature fresh home-baked pizza in four varieties and two sizes.

Over 500 were served at the 11th annual meeting of the Farmers Coop Grain Association held at the Durham Grade School auditorium Thursday night. Some $25,000 in cash was distributed to the 338 participating stockholders.

Polka fans will be pleased to learn that the 6-Fat Dutchmen from New Ulm, Minnesota, will be in Pilsen Nov. 12. The popular television and radio recording stars are well known over the world for their polka music.

The 33rd annual Veteran’s Day Carnival is scheduled for Nov. 11th at the American Legion Hall. Home-to cooked meals will be served and there will be games and drawings all day long, culminating with five grand prizes to be drawn at 10 p.m.

Neil Osgood was voted “Mock Homecoming King” Saturday at the FHA Mock Homecoming ball game, a contest staged by the girls of the FHA assisted by football team members, “M” club members, and a group of bandsters.

Assistant “kings,” each representing his high school class, were Kerry Domke, David Magee, and Norman Bowers.

Don Rittgers, owner and operator of Don’s Upholstery Clinic, announced this week the purchase of the building at 104 West Main and that he has moved the business to that location.
