It probably won’t happen again in many years, but five bald-headed gentlemen are pictured sitting down in a row to have their morning coffee. It happened Friday at Coon’s Restaurant. The counter line-up for the now organized “Bald Headed Coffee Club” includes dentist Dr. J.E. Tibbetts, station operator Harold Meredith, florist Rendel Newsom, welfare director Ed Stocking, and car dealer Scottie Gound.

Members of the board of directors and trustees of the Marion Community Hospital and their architect, Victor Loebsack, will open bids Jan. 19, in the Marion County courtroom, for construction of the hospital.

The marriage of Miss Corrine Longhofer, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.D. Longhofer, to Harold LeRoy McDaris, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.G. McDaris, will take place Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church.

One of the newest business improvements made on Main Street within the past few days has been the remodeling and addition of new equipment at Beaston’s Market.

Today, Thursday, marks the sixth birthday of Marion County’s only set of triplets, the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Winter.

Memorial services were held Tuesday afternoon for Joe E. Burkert, well-known and universally liked Marion citizen, and lifelong resident of this county.
