The Rev. Paul Meier, pastor of the newly organized St. Mark parish of 60 Catholic families, has announced that work is progressing rapidly toward the building a new church at the corner of Cedar and Sherman streets in Marion.
Sharing an important place in the fall sports spotlight is the undefeated Marion Junior High football team. The 22 boys who won all six of their games this season include Bruce Wingerd, Donald Winter, Keith Hyde, Gale Hiebert, David Montgomery, Dwight Kruse, Edward Davies, Robert Meisinger, Gerald Stage, Sam Jewett, Jerry Richards, Paul Roberts, John Wills, Verlin Meier, Jerry Seifert Dick Hoch, Laurence Griggs, Joe Dvorak, Archie Stenzel, Leon Lais, John Waner, and Bob Hiebert.
An interesting piano recital was given last Thursday evening at the Dave Krispense home by Jeanette Russell, Carol Krispense, and Carmen Siebert, pupils of Miss Viola Thompson. Recitations were given by Stevie Krispense and Johnny Russell.

Mrs. Donald Buethe of Lincolnville was admitted to the Marion Hospital Nov. 15 for an appendectomy.
