Seven doctors under 50 years of age completed Marion County’s second registration Jan. 15 with the Selective Service. There are two dentists, four medical doctors, and one veterinarian. In the first group of registrants were one dentist, five medical doctors, and one veterinarian for a total of fourteen. These 14 are subject to call for physical examination, classification and possible military service.
Ira Newcomer and Fred Muck of Cook Motor Co. were in Kansas City last Thursday for the showing of the 1951 Buick. Mrs. Newcomer and Mrs. Gordon Wolf accompanied them.
Six young Marion girls have gained popularity with their tap and acrobatic dancing and have performed at a community meeting in Lincolnville and on a program at the Herington all-school carnival. The girls are Judy Coons, Nancy Keazer, Carmen Siebert, Connie Long, Billie Herbert, and Kay Navrat.
Miss Rose Marie Dvorak plans to leave Jan. 29 from Wichita by plane for Honolulu. She will be a houseguest of Lt. and Mrs. K.D. Douglas until her marriage Feb. 5 to Cpl. Donald E. Van Buren who has been stationed at Wahiawa, Hawaii for the past 18 months.
An attractive young lady, name of Tamara, arrived this Thursday morning at the Marion hospital. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rosse Case.
